Nora QC Standard - 3-Step Protocol (Mandatory Before Every Publish)

1
Step 1 - Article & Writing QC
Before touching images, verify the article content is accurate, complete, and on-brand.
  • Headline matches the actual content of the article (no clickbait mismatch)
  • Intro paragraph delivers on the headline promise within the first 2 sentences
  • No placeholder text, [INSERT], [TBD], or unfinished sentences
  • All brand names, restaurant names, food names are correctly spelled
  • Dates and facts are accurate (no outdated promos, wrong year, wrong location)
  • Byline is set to "TopFoodNews Team" or correct author
  • Category tag is correct (Recipes, Trending, Fast Food, etc.)
  • No em dashes, curly quotes, or encoding artifacts
2
Step 2 - Recipe QC (if recipe article)
If the article contains a recipe card, verify every field before publish.
  • Recipe title in the card matches the article headline exactly
  • All ingredients are listed - no missing items referenced in instructions
  • Ingredient quantities are realistic and consistent (no "1 cup flour" in list, "2 cups" in steps)
  • Instructions are numbered and in logical order - follow through manually
  • Cook time, prep time, and difficulty are filled in and accurate
  • Servings field is present
  • "Jump to Recipe" button works and scrolls to the card
  • Print button is functional
3
Step 3 - Image QC (triple check - this is where errors happen)
Images must be verified against article content at every placement. This is the most error-prone step.
  • HERO IMAGE: Does the hero image show the exact food in the headline? (If article is about shrimp, hero must show shrimp - not chicken)
  • HERO ALT TEXT: Alt text matches what is actually in the image, not just copied from the title
  • BODY IMAGES: Every inline image is checked - does it match the paragraph it sits next to?
  • RECIPE CARD IMAGE: The image in the recipe card block must match the finished dish, not an ingredient or a different recipe
  • No images from a different article loaded by mistake (check image filename in WordPress media - does it match?)
  • No broken images (gray placeholder boxes)
  • Images load on mobile - check responsive view
  • FINAL CHECK: Read headline, look at hero image. Read recipe card title, look at recipe card image. They must match. Do this twice.

Action Required
Nora: open this article on live site and verify hero image shows ramen specifically - this is a common mismatch type (showing a different noodle dish or a soup that doesn't match). Also confirm cook time in headline (45 min) matches recipe card.
